How to Add Postal Codes on AMC Custom Audience

How to Format Postal Codes Correctly

By default, a DSP campaign targets the entire marketplace—for example, targeting the US means the whole US market. Postal codes let you narrow your audience down to specific areas, such as zip codes near your stores or delivery zones.

This guide helps you enter postal codes in the correct format when creating location-based audiences in AMC. Note that postal code data comes from Amazon DSP campaigns only—Sponsored Ads campaigns do not carry postal data. No technical tools are required—just follow the format below.

What Is the Postal Code Format?

Postal Code

The area in which a conversion occurred, based on the user's IP address. Postal code is also called "zip code" in the US.

Country Code Prefix

Every postal code in AMC must start with a two-letter country code, followed by a hyphen.

{COUNTRY CODE}-{POSTAL CODE}

Postal codes entered without the country prefix will not match any data.

How to Enter a Postal Code

Steps

  1. Decide which postal codes (zip codes) you want to target

  2. Add the two-letter country code in front of each one (see the reference table below)

  3. Join them with a hyphen: country code, hyphen, postal code

  4. Enter the combined value—you can add multiple postal codes

Example

To target the US zip code 12345, enter:

US-12345

Country Code: US Postal Code: 12345
